Research tasks within the Institute: dissolution of Austria-Hungary and the history of state succession in the area of present day Slovakia, the relationship between memory politics and local societies in Slovakia after 1989
Veronika Szeghy-Gayer earned her PhD degree from the School of History of the Department of Humanities of the Loránd Eötvös University in 2016. Her research interests are the history of Slovakia, interethnic relations and social history of the 19th and 20th centuries. She is lecturer at the Department of History of the Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Kosice and member of the Trianon 100 research group that is based at the Institute of History of the Centre for the Humanities (formerly of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences) in Budapest.
